Local Area Connection Manager by NeOrigo
========================================

This little program was written after the author had accumulated a large number of connections under Window's 'Network Connections', most of which were obsolete.

Instructions on reducing the clutter in 'Local Area Connections'
----------------------------------------------------------------

1) Go to your 'Network Connections' window (Start->Settings->Network Connections)

2) Rename each of the connections you see to something unusual/unique, that is somehow related to what the connection does.
   An example would be 'Router'

3) Reboot the PC to ensure that the names are stored

4) If you want to be extra safe, you can backup the whole registry using Regedit at this stage

5) Run the LACM, click on 'Check' and tick all the entries that don't use your new names from step 2.
   To help with this, you can sort the entries by their names by clicking on the 'Connection' column heading

6) Making sure that one of the backup options is ticked, click on "Delete Selected"

7) Click on 'Check' again to double-check the selected entries have gone

If you have any problems and wish to restore the backup, just double-click on the *.reg file created in the program's folder.

Copying the list
----------------

If you need to export the list of connections for your records etc, you can click on the 'Copy table to clipboard' button. This will copy the list to the clipboard, allowing you to paste the list wherever you wish. Note that the full registry keys are not copied since this is not normally required.
